Bio

Prof. Ming-Long Yeh currently serves as chairman of Department of Biomedical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University in Tainan, Taiwan. He receives his PhD degree from Texas A&M University, USA in Bioengineering. His main research fields are biomaterials, biomechanics and tissue engineering related. He has published more than 70 research papers in the past 10 years. Especially, those researches in cartilage tissue engineering, cell mechanics, and degradable metal implant materials make him the top researcher in those field.


He also serves the director of Medical Device Innovation Center (MDIC). MDIC has been working on integrating our research team, partner enterprises, venture capital firms and NCKU medical center to identify the unmet clinical needs and accordingly invent several value-oriented medical devices. MDIC believes that our continuous efforts in the medical device industry will eventually bring a great deal of contribution to Taiwan economy in the long run.

Abstract

Medical Device Innovation Center (MDIC) at National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, is the national center for the development of cutting-edge medical device. We are founded in 2011 and mission to facilitate the development of South Taiwan Medical Device Industry Cluster and to become a successful global leader in medical device innovation initiative

MDIC is a research organization that devotes to help booming the industry environment for those startup companies in the Medical Devices Industry. MDIC has been working on integrating our research teams, partner enterprises, venture capital firms and NCKU medical center to identify the unmet clinical needs and accordingly invent several value-oriented medical devices. Especially with our experience and strengths in the fields of teaching, services, research and creation, MDIC believes that our continuous efforts in the medical device industry will eventually bring a great deal of contribution to Taiwan economy in the long run. 

 Currently, we devote our research and development in the following fields:

--- Novel Medical Devices, especially in Biomaterials and cell therapy

--- The Aging Long Term Care Issues in Taiwan: Health promotion, i-Transport, intelligent exercise system

--- Digital innovation of intelligent medical devices.
